Krugman on the "Money-Saving Death Panels"

I can tell that Paul Krugman is excited. FINALLY! The government is going to force real cost savings at what is supposedly at the end of life. See the video below and decide for yourself if Sarah Palin is the idiot (at least on this subject) that Krugman claims she is:

Aside from Krugman's seeming acknowledgement of the existence of 'death' panels his leading statement is not exactly correct.

Krugman says those on the right are contradicting themselves. I don't think so. One need not engage in a contradiction by holding the health care reform bill will cost more money overall, though the 'death panel' portion will cut back on current spending for care not deemed 'efficient' for older patients.

Does Krugman live on the same planet as the rest of us? He claims those "on the right are screaming about sending all the old people to death panels" but not to worry, the "advisory panel will have the ability to make more or less binding judgments on medical treatments" and that will save a lot of money. Oh...that clears it up. Don't you people "on the right" feel better now?

I feel much better know my grandfather wont face a 'death panel' to decide if hes worth keeping alive or not. Now I know that he'll face an 'advisory panel' to decide if its worth paying to treat his prostate cancer.
